How to Upgrade and Refine Your SlashBlade Addon Sword

Addon blades are not static. Like the base SlashBlade weapons, they can be improved through the mod's refinement and upgrade systems, and doing so is the main way to keep an addon sword relevant as you progress.

Refining the blade

Refinement raises a blade's core stats. Use the mod's refinement interface with the required materials to push the blade to higher refinement levels. Higher refinement generally means more attack power and better ability scaling. The materials needed scale with the blade's current level, so stockpile the relevant ingots or shards before starting.

Applying upgrades and enchantments

1. Place the blade in the upgrade interface.

2. Add the upgrade item or enchantment you want to apply.

3. Confirm and remove the blade.

Some upgrades are exclusive, so plan which path you want before committing. Proud Souls and similar progression items from the base mod are commonly required to unlock stronger forms or abilities on addon blades.

If an upgrade refuses to apply, the blade may be at its cap, missing a prerequisite, or the upgrade may not be compatible with that specific addon sword. Check the tooltip for the blade's current state before spending materials.
