Gather Your Materials

Collect iron nuggets and smooth stone slabs. You'll need enough to craft multiple Furnace Slabs depending on how many smelting operations you want to run simultaneously.

Craft Your Furnace Slabs

Place iron nuggets and smooth stone slabs in your crafting grid according to the Furnace Slab recipe. Each crafted slab functions identically to a full-sized furnace—it accepts fuel in one slot and items to smelt in another.

Position Your Slabs

Place your Furnace Slabs on the ground or against walls in your base. Because they're half-blocks, you can stack them vertically or arrange them in tight spaces where a regular furnace wouldn't fit. Each slab operates independently, so you can smelt different items simultaneously.

Load and Monitor

Right-click any Furnace Slab to open its interface. Add fuel (coal, wood, etc.) and the items you want to smelt. The slab will process items at the same speed as a normal furnace. You can access multiple slabs without moving far, making this setup ideal for small bases or compact kitchens.
