Prepare Wooden Slabs

Craft or gather oak wood slabs—you'll need eight per Chest Slab you want to make.

Craft Chest Slabs

Arrange eight wooden slabs in a ring pattern in your crafting grid to create a Chest Slab. This compact storage block holds the same amount as a regular chest but takes up half the vertical space.

Build Your Storage Wall

Place Chest Slabs side-by-side or stack them vertically to create a dense storage wall. Since they're half-blocks, you can fit twice as many in the same footprint compared to full chests. You can also combine them with Trapped Chest Slabs for security.

Organize by Purpose

Designate different slabs for different item categories—one for ores, one for building blocks, one for tools. The compact arrangement lets you keep everything visible and accessible without sacrificing floor space. Right-click any slab to access its inventory.
