Set Up Your First Tent and Sleep Safely

Placing a Tent

Find a flat, clear area where you want to camp. Open your inventory and select a tent (Solo, Wall, Canopy, or Zip). Right-click on the ground to place it. The tent will expand into its full 3×3 interior space, so make sure the surrounding area is clear of blocks and mobs.

Sleeping in Your Tent

Once placed, enter the tent by walking into it. Place a bed inside using a bed item from your inventory. Right-click the bed to sleep. Your spawn point will be set to this bed, so if you die, you'll respawn here instead of at your world spawn.

Protecting from Weather

Tent roofs automatically block rain, so your bed will work normally even during storms. This means you can skip the night safely without needing to find a cave or build shelter. Campfires inside also function properly without rain extinguishing them.

Packing Up

When ready to leave, sneak (hold Shift) and right-click with an empty hand on any part of the tent. It will collapse into a single portable item that you can carry in your inventory.
