Mining Blocks from a Distance

Using Tools as Projectiles

One of the slingshot's most practical features is the ability to mine blocks without getting close. Mining tools—pickaxes, axes, and shovels—retain their functionality when fired as projectiles.

How to Mine Remotely

1. Equip a mining tool: Place a pickaxe, axe, or shovel in your off-hand or hotbar.

2. Load and aim: Pull back the slingshot while aiming at the block you want to break.

3. Fire: Release to launch the tool. When it hits the block, it will break it just as if you'd mined it normally.

4. Retrieve your tool: The tool will drop after impact. Pick it up to reuse it.

Enhancing with Enchantments

Apply the Tool User enchantment to your slingshot to ensure axes and shovels perform their special block actions from range—axes strip logs, shovels flatten grass paths, and so on.

For even faster mining, combine this with the Quick Charge enchantment to reduce the time needed to pull back and fire. This makes harvesting resources from dangerous heights or across gaps much safer and more efficient.
