How to Use the Grave Key

What the Key Is For

The Grave Key is the item Simple Tomb adds so you can reclaim your belongings after dying. Depending on how the mod is configured, you either receive a key automatically when you die, or you need one to unlock your grave. It exists so your items are not lost and so other players cannot simply walk up and take them.

Getting a Key

If the mod is set to give keys on death, check your inventory right after respawning — the key should be there. If it is not, look at the mod's configuration to see whether key-giving is enabled. Some setups only require the key when grave protection is turned on.

Using It

Return to your grave with the key in hand. Interact with the grave while holding the key to open it and pull your items back into your inventory. Make sure you have free inventory slots before opening, or some items may not transfer.

Tips

• Keep the key in your hotbar so you do not fumble for it near danger.
• Do not drop or store the key somewhere you cannot reach — you need it on you at the grave.
• If the grave opens without a key, your config likely has key requirement disabled, and the key is just a convenience item.
