How to Set a Custom Window Title and Icon

Changing the Window Title

By default the game window shows the Minecraft name and version. Simple Menu Mod lets you type your own title text. Open the mod's config, find the window title field, and enter whatever you want displayed in the title bar. Save and the title updates; a restart guarantees it sticks.

Setting a Custom Window Icon

1. Prepare a square image for the icon. The taskbar icon is small, so use a simple, high-contrast design that reads well when shrunk.

2. In the config, find the window icon option and point it at your image file.

3. Save and restart the game. The icon appears in the taskbar and window corner.

Things to Watch For

  • If the icon does not appear, the file may be the wrong format or too large. Try a smaller PNG.
  • Some operating systems cache taskbar icons. If the old icon lingers, unpin and repin the game, or restart your computer.
  • Keep the title short; very long titles get truncated by the operating system anyway.
  • Both settings are cosmetic and safe to change at any time.
