How to Configure Magnet Radius and Filters

Opening the Settings

Hold the magnet in your hand and open its configuration screen (usually via a keybind or right-click action, depending on your setup). Here you can adjust how far the magnet reaches and whether it is currently active. Changes apply immediately, so you can test by dropping an item and watching whether it flies to you.

Setting the Radius

A larger radius pulls items from farther away, which is great for mining tunnels and combat. A smaller radius keeps pickup local, which is safer around farms and storage. Start small and increase until you are happy with the coverage, then save the setting.

Using Filters

Some magnets let you filter which items are affected. If your version supports it, add items to an allow or deny list so the magnet ignores things you do not want moved — like items sitting in frames or on the ground as decoration. Check the in-game tooltip or settings menu to see what filter options your magnet offers.

Tips

  • Test radius changes in an open area before using them near your base.
  • If a filter is not behaving as expected, clear it and re-add entries one at a time.
  • Remember that demagnetization coils override magnet settings, so a coil nearby will still disable the magnet regardless of radius.
