Convert Meat and Rotten Flesh Using the Drying Rack

What the Drying Rack Does

The Drying Rack is a utility block that processes organic materials over time. It doesn't require energy—just place it and add items to its inventory. It will gradually convert them into finished products.

Processing Meat into Jerky

Place raw meat (beef, pork, chicken, or mutton) in the Drying Rack. After some time, it will transform into Jerky, a food item that restores hunger. This is useful for creating portable food supplies without needing a furnace.

Converting Rotten Flesh

Rotten Flesh can be dried into Leather. This is valuable if you need leather but don't have access to cows. You can also craft four Zombie Leather together to create one standard Leather, giving you another conversion option.

Expanding Recipes

The Drying Rack supports additional recipes beyond meat and flesh. Check JEI to see all available conversions in your modpack, as recipes can be customized through data packs.
