Using Shoulder View Comfortably in Combat and Building
Aiming in Combat
In shoulder view your crosshair sits off-center relative to the player, so aiming feels different from first-person. To land hits reliably, keep the
camera offset modest so the crosshair stays near the center of your screen. When fighting, strafe so the
camera side faces the target rather than the player's back. If you keep losing track of enemies, switch the
camera to the opposite shoulder so the open side faces the threat.
Building and Placing Blocks
Placing blocks precisely is harder when the
camera is offset, because the block you target depends on where the crosshair points, not where the player faces. For detailed building, either reduce the offset or temporarily toggle back to first-person using the mod's keybind. For large structures, shoulder view helps you see the shape of what you are building without switching perspectives constantly.
Managing Motion Sickness
Some players find the offset and smoothing disorienting. Lower the smoothing so the
camera tracks your mouse tightly, reduce the offset, and consider disabling any head-bob or
camera sway options in the config. Take breaks when mining or traveling, since the constant offset can strain your eyes over long sessions.
