Fixing the Camera Clipping Into Walls or Blocks

Why Clipping Happens

The shoulder camera sits behind and beside the player, so when you back into a wall, the camera can end up inside a solid block, showing the inside of terrain or black voids. This is a collision problem between the camera position and the world geometry.

Reducing the Offset

Open the mod config and reduce the horizontal and vertical offset values. A smaller offset keeps the camera closer to the player's head, which means it needs less clearance behind you before it hits a block. If you set a large offset for a cinematic look, that clearance requirement grows and clipping becomes more frequent in tight spaces like caves and corridors.

Enabling Camera Collision Handling

Check the config for an option related to camera collision or pushing the camera forward when blocked. When enabled, the mod pulls the camera in toward the player instead of letting it enter blocks. If your version exposes a minimum distance, set it so the camera never gets so close it clips into the player model. Test in a narrow tunnel: walk backward into a wall and confirm the view pulls in rather than showing the wall interior. If clipping persists, lower your offset further and re-test.
