Adjusting Shoulder Offset, Height, and Camera Distance

Opening the Config

Shoulder Surfing Reloaded exposes its tuning options through an in-game config screen. Open it from the Mods menu (select the mod and click Config) or via the mod's own config keybind if one is set. The screen groups settings into categories such as general camera behavior, offset, and smoothing.

Tuning the Offset

Look for options controlling the horizontal offset (how far left or right of the player the camera sits), the vertical offset (how high above the shoulder), and the distance behind the player. Increasing the horizontal offset pushes the view further to the side; raising the vertical offset lifts the camera above the head. Adjust these gradually and watch the preview in-world, since extreme values can clip the camera into blocks or make the player model block your aim.

Smoothing and Field of View

Settings for camera smoothing control how quickly the view catches up when you turn. Lower smoothing feels snappier; higher smoothing feels floatier. You can also adjust the field of view used in shoulder mode separately from vanilla FOV if the option exists. After changing values, exit the config and move around to confirm the camera does not jitter or pass through terrain.
