How to Craft and Use ODM Gear in Shingeki No Craft

Getting Your First Set of Gear

ODM gear is the core of this mod, and you cannot fight Titans without it. Start by gathering the materials the mod expects for the harness and gas canisters — typically iron, leather, and the mod's own blade/gas components. Open the crafting interface and look up the ODM recipe in JEI/REI if you have it installed; the mod adds its own recipe category, so search for "ODM" or "blade" rather than guessing.

Once crafted, equip the harness in the appropriate armor slots and place gas canisters and blades into the gear's dedicated slots (right-click the item or check the tooltip for slot hints).

Flying and Fighting

• Hold the ODM activation key while aiming at a block or tree to fire a grapple hook. Release to reel in.
• While airborne, tap the boost key to fire gas and gain speed. Watch your gas meter — running dry mid-swing drops you.
• Aim at a Titan's nape (back of the neck) and attack with the blade key. Hitting anywhere else does little damage.
• Land safely by releasing grapples and letting momentum carry you, or grapple a nearby surface to slow down.

Practice on trees and buildings before engaging Titans. The movement has a learning curve, and falling from height still hurts.
