Tame and Ride a Triceratops

Finding Triceratops

Triceratops spawn in grassy biomes with flowers. They're herbivorous and generally peaceful unless provoked. Look for their distinctive three-horned silhouette in open fields during the day.

Taming Process

Gather ferns from your surroundings—they grow naturally in many biomes. Approach the Triceratops slowly and feed it ferns by right-clicking. You'll need to repeat this several times until hearts appear, indicating successful taming.

Once tamed, the Triceratops will follow you and won't attack. You can now ride it by right-clicking while sneaking, or simply mount it directly. Tamed Triceratops are excellent for traversing terrain quickly and can help you carry items through exploration.

Tips

Keep ferns in your inventory when exploring grassy areas—you may encounter wild Triceratops and want to tame multiple mounts. Tamed creatures remember their owner, so you can leave them behind and they'll stay put until you return.
