How to Change the Shield Status Overlay Colors
Opening the Mod Menu
Shield Statuses Mod keeps all of its color options inside the standard mod menu rather than a separate config file. From the main menu, open the mods list, find Shield Statuses, and click the config button. If you are already in a world, most mod loaders let you reach the same screen through the pause menu's mod options entry. The config screen shows a separate color entry for each shield state the mod tracks.
Picking Colors That Read Clearly
Click a color entry to open the picker, then choose a hue and confirm. The two states you will normally adjust are the enabled (active) state and the disabled (broken) state. A common approach is a cool, calm color for enabled and a warm, alarming color for disabled, since the overlay only needs to be noticed at a glance during combat.
Testing Your Choices
Leave the config and raise your shield to see the enabled overlay, then let it take enough hits to disable it and check the disabled color. If the two are too similar, reopen the config and shift one of them. Because the mod draws a translucent overlay instead of replacing the shield texture, your colors blend with whatever resource pack you use, so re-check them if you later swap packs.
