Manage Mob Personality and Combat Behavior
Understanding Personality Types
Each mob spawns with a built-in personality that shapes how it behaves:
- Aggressive — Attacks players on sight and fights with high speed and intensity
- Shy — Flees from approaching players and hides behind solid blocks
- Friendly — Greets players with crouching, offers gifts, and turns cautious if hit
- Passive — Wanders peacefully and ignores most interactions
- Skeptical — Pauses to inspect you, raises shields or weapons when you get close
Adapting to Combat Situations
Mob combat behavior reflects their personality. Brave mobs fire arrows quickly and switch to melee when out of ammo. Timid mobs maintain distance and prefer ranged attacks. When issuing attack commands, consider personality—a shy mob may hesitate or flee mid-combat, while an aggressive mob charges forward relentlessly.
Mobs pull actual arrows and fireworks from their inventory during ranged combat. If you equip a mob with both a bow and sword, it intelligently switches weapons based on ammunition availability and distance to enemies. Personality determines how effectively they execute these tactics.
