Dye Stained Glass and Glass Panes
Creating Custom Glass Designs
Dyed stained glass and panes let you build windows, skylights, and decorative screens in colors beyond vanilla's limited palette.
Steps
1. Obtain stained glass or stained glass panes (craft or find in the world)
2. Dye a
paintbrush: Place a paintbrush with any dye in a crafting grid
3. Hold the dyed paintbrush in your active hand
4. Right-click each glass block or pane to paint it your chosen color
5. Layer different colors by switching paintbrushes for complex window designs
Design Applications
- Build stained-glass windows with intricate color patterns
- Create colored skylights that tint interior lighting
- Design decorative room dividers using glass panes in complementary colors
- Combine dyed glass with
dyed iron bars for ornate window frames
Notes
- Dyed glass retains transparency and light-passing properties
- Glass panes connect to adjacent panes and blocks normally after dyeing
- You can create gradient effects by carefully placing different colored panes next to each other
