Understanding the Sea Eater

The Sea Eater is a massive 160-block long creature that dominates deep ocean areas below Y=53. Its most distinctive feature is an enormous mouth large enough to swim inside—this is both a danger and an opportunity for close combat.

Combat Strategy

Avoid swimming directly into the mouth, as the Sea Eater can swallow you or trap you inside. Instead, attack from the sides and rear of its body where you have more mobility. Use the tight hitbox system to your advantage—you can swim close without being pushed away by collision damage.

Collecting Scales and Escaping

Defeat the Sea Eater to collect 26 dark charcoal scales. These craft into strong armor with 50 sword damage—excellent mid-tier equipment. If you're overwhelmed, remember that the Sea Eater takes damage if it leaves the water, so luring it to shallow areas can give you an escape route. Always have healing potions ready for extended fights.
