Set Up Your First Automated Farm with a Scythe

Prepare Your Farmland

Start by creating a flat, tilled field. Use a scythe like a regular hoe—right-click on dirt or grass blocks to till them into farmland. Plant your crops (wheat, carrots, potatoes, or beetroot) across the prepared area.

Harvest and Auto-Replant

Once your crops are fully grown, equip your scythe in your main hand and position yourself near the field. Right-click on any mature crop. The scythe will harvest all mature crops within its area of effect and automatically replant seeds into the tilled dirt blocks. The harvesting radius depends on your scythe's tier—higher-tier scythes cover larger areas.

Expand Your Range

To harvest even larger patches, apply the Crop Reaper enchantment to your scythe using an enchanting table or anvil. This enchantment increases the harvesting radius, letting you clear bigger fields with fewer swings. Combine multiple enchanted scythes or upgrade to a higher-tier scythe as you progress for maximum efficiency.
