Adding Shadows to Scoreboard Text for Better Visibility

Scoreboard text can wash out against bright backgrounds like snow, sky, or explosions. Text shadows add a dark outline that keeps everything readable.

Enabling Shadows

Open the mod's config and find the shadow options. There are separate toggles for the header, the body, and the score numbers, matching the color split. Turn on the ones you want. Enabling shadows for all three gives the most consistent look; enabling only the body can keep the header clean if you prefer a lighter style.

How It Interacts with Colors

Shadows work best when your text color contrasts with the shadow. Light text with a dark shadow reads clearly on almost any background. If you use dark text, shadows help less and may look muddy, so consider lightening the text color first.

Combining with Scale and Position

Shadows are most valuable when the scoreboard is small or positioned over busy terrain. If you shrank the scale earlier, turning shadows on often restores readability without forcing you to enlarge the text again. After enabling shadows, check the sidebar in a few different environments, then adjust colors if any combination looks too heavy or too faint.
