Use Charcoal Blocks for Fuel

Charcoal blocks function as a fuel source in furnaces, blast furnaces, and smokers. They provide extended burn time compared to individual charcoal pieces, making them ideal for large smelting operations.

Fueling a Furnace

1. Open a furnace and place items you want to smelt in the top slot.

2. Place a charcoal block in the fuel slot (bottom slot).

3. One charcoal block will fuel multiple smelting cycles.

Efficiency Tips

Charcoal blocks are most useful when you're running extended smelting operations. Rather than constantly adding individual charcoal pieces, a single block provides sustained fuel. This reduces inventory management and keeps your furnace running longer without interruption.

For small-scale smelting, individual charcoal pieces may be more practical to avoid wasting fuel. However, in modpacks with heavy automation or bulk processing, charcoal blocks become essential for efficient resource management.
