Charcoal blocks are crafted using charcoal, the byproduct of smelting wood in a furnace. This block provides a compact storage solution for large quantities of charcoal.

Crafting Steps

1. Obtain charcoal by smelting wood logs in a furnace. You'll need multiple charcoal pieces to create a block.

2. Open your crafting table and arrange charcoal pieces in a 3×3 grid pattern, filling all nine slots.

3. Collect the charcoal block from the output slot.

Storage Benefits

Charcoal blocks work identically to coal blocks—they're primarily useful for compacting inventory space when you have excess charcoal. Nine charcoal pieces compress into one block, making storage and transport more efficient. This is especially valuable in modpacks where charcoal accumulates quickly from large-scale wood processing or smelting operations.

Reverse Crafting

If you need individual charcoal pieces again, place a charcoal block back in the crafting table to receive nine charcoal pieces.
