How to Stop Strongholds From Being Cut Apart by World Generation

What the mod actually changes

Save My Stronghold works by intervening during world generation so that stronghold structures are not carved up or overwritten by terrain features. Instead of letting caves, ravines, oceans, or other structures slice through stronghold rooms and corridors, the mod protects the stronghold's footprint and keeps its pieces connected. You do not need to toggle anything in a config screen for the basic behavior — once the mod is loaded, newly generated strongholds in new chunks benefit from it.

Making sure it applies to your world

1. Install the mod before you generate the chunks that will contain the stronghold. Protection happens at generation time, so it cannot retroactively repair a stronghold that was already broken in an existing save.

2. If you are starting a fresh world, simply play normally and let the stronghold generate. The mod will keep its layout intact as terrain is placed around it.

3. If you already have a world with a damaged stronghold, the existing damage stays. You would need to explore to a stronghold that has not yet generated, or start a new world, to see the mod's effect.

4. When adding other world-shaping mods, load Save My Stronghold alongside them. It is designed to hold its ground even when other mods reshape terrain, so the stronghold should remain whole.
