How to Stop Mobs From Rendering Far Away (Reduce Entity Lag)
Why distant mobs cost you FPS
RuOK limits how many entities are drawn based on your distance from them. When a mob is outside the display range, the mod skips rendering it, which is where most of the performance gain comes from in crowded areas like farms, villages, or raid fights. If you still see mobs popping in at long range or your frame rate tanks near a mob farm, your display range is set too generously.
Tightening the entity display range
1. Open the RuOK configuration screen from the mod list or the in-game mod menu.
2. Find the entity/mob display section. This is the area that controls how many entities are shown and at what distance.
3. Lower the maximum displayed entity count. Start conservative and raise it only if you notice mobs vanishing too close to you.
4. Reduce the display distance so entities beyond that radius are culled from rendering.
5. Apply and return to the world. Walk toward a dense group of mobs and watch your frame rate.
Tuning tips
If mobs disappear while you are actively fighting them, raise the distance slightly. If your FPS is still low around farms, lower the count first before touching distance. The goal is the smallest range that still feels natural during normal play.
