How to Configure Mob Display Without Editing Config Files

The custom interface

One of RuOK's conveniences is a built-in screen for controlling which mobs are displayed, so you never have to open a text editor or hunt for a config file. Everything is done through toggles and sliders in the mod's GUI, and changes take effect as you make them.

Adjusting mob display in-game

1. Open the RuOK configuration screen from the mods list or in-game menu.

2. Navigate to the mob/entity display section of the interface.

3. Use the controls there to set how mobs are shown. You can limit the number of displayed entities and control the distance-based culling behavior.

4. If the interface offers per-category or filtering options, use them to keep important mobs visible while trimming the rest.

5. Apply your changes and return to the world to verify the result.

When to revisit these settings

Come back to this screen whenever your performance changes: after building a large farm, joining a busier server, or upgrading your hardware. Because it is all in the GUI, you can experiment freely and revert anything that looks wrong. If a mob you rely on (for example, one you are hunting or trading with) stops appearing, loosen the display limit until it shows again.
