Unlock Weapons and Armor Locked by Skill Level
Understanding Item Locks
The Runic Skills Mod restricts access to powerful weapons and armor until you reach the required skill level. When you try to hold a locked item, a warning message appears on your screen telling you the minimum level needed.
How to Check Requirements
Open your skills menu by pressing Y or clicking the skills tab next to your inventory. Browse through your skill paths to see your current levels. Hover over any weapon or armor piece in your inventory and hold Shift to view its level requirement.
Gaining Skill Points
Level up the relevant skill by performing related actions:
- Strength: Fight mobs and deal damage
- Dexterity: Use bows, dodge attacks, or move quickly
- Magic: Cast spells or use magical items
- Mining: Break stone and ore blocks
- Farming: Harvest crops and tend to animals
Continue these activities until your skill level matches or exceeds the item's requirement. Once you reach the threshold, the item becomes usable immediately—no special activation needed.
Configuration Option
If item locks feel restrictive, server admins or single-player users can disable them entirely using the enableItemLocks configuration setting.
