Locating the Researcher

The Researcher NPC spawns in villages throughout your world. Search village structures carefully—the Researcher may appear in a dedicated building or among other villagers. Look for an NPC with a distinct appearance that sets them apart from standard villagers.

Trading for Maps

Once you've found the Researcher, interact with them to open their trade menu. The Researcher sells maps to various structures added by the mod. These maps function like vanilla treasure maps—they point you toward specific locations on your world.

Maps are your primary tool for discovering the mod's unique structures without wandering aimlessly. Different maps lead to different structure types, so trading multiple times gives you options for exploration.

Completing Quests

Beyond maps, the Researcher offers quests and reacts to your actions in the world. Completing their tasks may unlock additional trades or reveal easter eggs. Pay attention to dialogue and notifications—the Researcher tracks your progress and behavior.
