How to Hide Item Frames Without Hiding the Items Inside
Why the Item Stays Visible
A common worry is that toggling a frame invisible will also hide whatever is displayed. It does not. The mod only affects the frame border, so your map, tool, block, or trophy item remains fully rendered and floating in mid-air. This is exactly what makes the mod popular for clean decoration — you get a floating item with no wooden border around it.
Building a Clean Display
To use this for decoration, place your item frames on the wall as normal, put the items you want inside, then sneak-right-click each frame to hide the borders. The result looks like items pinned directly to the wall.
A few practical tips:
- Hide frames one at a time so you can confirm each item is still showing.
- If you plan to rotate an item inside the frame, do that before hiding it, or briefly reveal the frame to rotate it.
- For a floating-item look on a flat wall, hide the frame and leave the item in place — no extra blocks needed.
- If you later want to remove the item, sneak-right-click to reveal the frame first, then take the item out normally.
This keeps your storage or trophy wall tidy while preserving every displayed item.
