How to Craft and Place a Rope Bridge

Getting the Materials

Rope Bridges are built from Rope, which you craft from string. You will need a good stack of Rope before you start, since long bridges eat a lot of it. Each wood type (Oak, Spruce, Birch, Jungle, Acacia, Dark Oak, Mangrove, Cherry, Bamboo, Crimson, Warped, Pale Oak) has its own Rope Bridge variant, so pick the wood that matches your build. The bridge block itself is crafted from Rope plus the matching plank type.

Placing the Bridge

Hold the Rope Bridge block and right-click the side of a solid block where you want the span to begin. The bridge extends outward from that anchor point. Keep right-clicking along the path to lay more segments, or place them one at a time if you prefer control. Bridges can run horizontally and can be walked on immediately. If a segment will not place, check that you are aiming at a valid face and that nothing solid is blocking the target space. To remove a bridge, break any segment and the pieces come back as items.
