How to Build a Rope Ladder and Climb It
Crafting the Ladder
Rope Ladders come in the same wood variants as Rope Bridges. Craft them from Rope plus the matching wood, then place them against a vertical surface. Unlike a vanilla ladder, a Rope Ladder can hang freely, so you can drop one down a cliff, mine shaft, or tree and climb it without a wall behind every rung.
Climbing Tips
Face the ladder and hold forward to ascend, just like a normal ladder. Because it hangs, you can place a long ladder from the top and let it dangle to the ground below, giving you a quick way back up. Combine a Rope Ladder with a Rope Bridge to make a full traversal kit: bridge across the gap, ladder down the far side. If you need to reach a high ledge, place the ladder at the top edge and extend it downward. Break the bottom rung to recover the ladder when you are done, or leave it as a permanent route between levels of your base.
