Catch Fish Using Float Fishing

Find Suitable Water and Prepare Bait

Locate a river, lake, or pond. Equip your float rod and gather appropriate bait—worms, maggots, or insects work for most freshwater fish. You can farm these using worm farms or maggot farms, or collect them from the environment.

Cast and Watch for Bites

Right-click to cast your line into the water. Your float will bob on the surface. Watch for it to plunge suddenly—this signals a bite. When it happens, right-click again to set the hook and begin reeling.

Manage the Tension Mini-Game

As you reel, a tension meter appears. Keep tension in the safe zone—too loose and the fish escapes, too tight and your line snaps. Adjust by holding or releasing the reel button. Larger fish pull harder and require more careful management. Once the fish is fully reeled in, it's yours.

Float fishing is best during calm weather and specific times of day. Check water conditions before you start for better success rates.
