Assemble Your First Custom Fishing Rod
Gather Rod Components
Before you can fish, you need to build a rod. Collect a rod blank (the core shaft), a reel, fishing line, a rig, and a hook. Each component affects your rod's performance—heavier blanks handle bigger fish, while sensitive ones detect subtle bites better.
Use the Rod Assembly Menu
Open your crafting menu or dedicated rod assembly interface. Combine your blank, reel, line, rig, and hook in the correct slots. The menu will show you the rod's stats: casting distance, sensitivity, and strength. Once assembled, your rod is ready to use.
Match Your Setup to Your Target
Different fish prefer different tackle. A light
spinning rod with thin line works for small stream fish, while a heavy bottom-fishing setup with a
feeder rig suits large
carp. Check your bestiary or local water conditions to decide what to build. You can craft multiple rods and switch between them depending on where and what you're fishing for.
Start simple—a basic
float rod is forgiving and teaches you the mechanics quickly.
