Troubleshoot Shield Not Blocking Quickly

Verify the Mod is Loaded

Check your mod list in-game (usually accessible from the main menu). Confirm that Responsive Shields appears in your active mods. If it's missing, the mod may not be installed correctly.

Check Your Configuration File

Open responsive-shields.toml and confirm the raise_time value is set to what you expect. If it's set to a high number (like 5 or more), your shield will still feel sluggish. Lower it to 0 or 1 for noticeable improvement.

Reload Your World

Configuration changes don't always apply instantly. Exit to the main menu and re-enter your world, or restart the client entirely to ensure new settings take effect.

Test in Survival Mode

Some game modes or mods may interfere with shield mechanics. Try blocking in a simple Survival world to isolate whether the issue is mod-related or caused by another mod conflict.
