How to Craft Reptile Armor and Gear

Understanding Armor Types

Each reptile scute type crafts into different armor pieces with unique benefits:

• Crocodile/Alligator scutes → Thorny chestplates or spiky blocks
• Alligator scutes → Boots that increase swimming speed
• Caiman scutes → Leggings that boost walking speed
• Giant Tortoise scutes → Heavy shield (requires combining with netherite)

Gathering Materials

Brush the appropriate reptile to collect enough scutes. For the heavy shield, you'll also need netherite ingots. Gather these at your crafting table.

Crafting at the Table

Open your crafting menu and arrange the scutes in the pattern shown in the recipe. For armor pieces, follow standard armor crafting layouts. For the heavy shield, place scutes and netherite together according to the recipe.

Using Your Gear

Equip your new armor to gain its benefits. Speed-boosting leggings and boots stack with other movement enhancements. The heavy shield provides strong defense comparable to endgame gear.
