How to Use the Apothecary Cauldron and Mortar to Brew Potions

The Apothecary Setup

Reliquary adds its own potion-brewing chain separate from vanilla brewing stands. You need two blocks: the Apothecary Mortar and the Apothecary Cauldron.

Step 1 — Grind Ingredients in the Mortar

Place the Apothecary Mortar down and interact with it while holding a valid ingredient. The mortar grinds the item into a powder or paste form used in the cauldron. Common inputs include Bat Wings, Chelicerae, Catalyzing Gland, and Fertile Essence.

Step 2 — Brew in the Cauldron

Place the Apothecary Cauldron and fill it with water (right-click with a water bucket or place it near a water source depending on version). Add your ground ingredients. The cauldron will process them into a potion base.

Step 3 — Bottle the Result

Use glass bottles on the cauldron to extract the finished potion. Some recipes produce Condensed Potion or Condensed Potion Vial, which are more potent or longer-lasting variants.

Useful Recipes

  • Fertile Potion — from Fertile Essence; boosts crop growth when used on farmland.
  • Glowing Water — a light-emitting potion.
  • Aphrodite's Serum — a charm-related brew.

Always check JEI/REI for exact ingredient ratios, as they vary by version.
