What the Coin of Fortune Does

The Coin of Fortune is a held relic that increases the quantity of drops from mobs you kill. Keep it in your hotbar and select it (or hold it in your offhand if your setup allows) while fighting. It does not need to be swung as a weapon — it works passively as long as it is the active item.

Getting the Materials

You will need gold and a source of luck-themed ingredients. The coin is crafted at a crafting table using gold ingots arranged around a central catalyst item. Check the recipe in JEI/REI once you have the mod loaded, since the exact catalyst depends on your version.

Practical Use

• Pair the coin with a looting-enchanted sword for stacked drop bonuses.
• Use it on mob farms where you manually land the killing blow — automated kills will not benefit.
• Combine with the Charm Belt if you want to carry the coin without sacrificing a hotbar slot.
• Against bosses and rare mobs, switch to the coin right before the final hit to maximize rare drops.

The coin is most valuable early-to-mid game when you are farming specific mob drops like gunpowder, string, or ender pearls.
