Use Comparators to Read Mosaic Block Colors
Redstone Signal Output
Mosaic blocks emit redstone signals based on their dye color. When you place a comparator next to a dyed mosaic tile, the comparator outputs a signal strength that corresponds to the block's color. Different colors produce different signal strengths.
Setting Up Detection
Place a redstone comparator facing away from your
mosaic block. The comparator will automatically detect the block's color and output the appropriate signal strength on its back face. You can then run redstone wire or other components from this output.
Practical Applications
Use this feature to create color-based redstone logic. For example, build a system where different colored tiles trigger different mechanisms, or create a visual display where comparator outputs control lamps or doors. This is useful for puzzle maps, adventure maps, or decorative contraptions.
Undyed Tiles
Mosaic blocks without dye applied will not output a signal from comparators, making them useful as "off" states in your designs.
