Designing Multi-Story Buildings with Varied Brick Types
Layering Different Brick Families by Floor
The resource pack supports brick types from multiple sources: Stone
Bricks,
Deepslate Bricks,
Nether Bricks, Prismarine Bricks, Blackstone Bricks,
Quartz Bricks, and
End Stone Bricks. Each family has distinct top and side textures, making them ideal for creating visual separation between building floors.
Steps:
1. Choose a primary brick type for your building's base
2. Build the first floor or section using that brick
3. Switch to a contrasting brick type (e.g., Polished Deepslate if you used Stone Bricks) for the next level
4. The different top textures will naturally define each story
5. Use Cracked or Mossy variants to add age and weathering to specific sections
Adding Architectural Detail
Incorporate brick walls and Chiseled variants (available for Stone Bricks, Nether Bricks, and Blackstone) to break up large flat surfaces. The refined masonry column model makes these decorative blocks feel intentional rather than repetitive, giving your building a structured, professional appearance.
