Choosing the Right Brick Type for Your Build's Aesthetic
Understanding Brick Type Characteristics
The resource pack updates 39 textures across multiple brick families, each with a distinct visual style. Stone
Bricks and
Mud Bricks suit natural or medieval builds. Deepslate and Blackstone bricks work for darker, more modern structures.
Nether Bricks create hellish or industrial themes. Prismarine and
End Stone Bricks fit fantasy or magical builds.
Quartz Bricks suit clean, bright designs.
Steps:
1. Identify your build's theme (medieval, modern, fantasy, etc.)
2. Test different brick types in a small section
3. View them from multiple angles to see how the top and side textures interact with your lighting
4. Consider using Cracked or Mossy variants to add texture and age
5. Combine complementary types—Polished Deepslate pairs well with Blackstone; Stone Bricks work with Mud Bricks
Previewing Before Committing
Build a small pillar or wall section with your chosen brick type. The distinct top texture will immediately show whether the masonry style fits your vision. Swap in different variants or types until the overall appearance matches your intended aesthetic.
