How to Connect Your Construction Stick to a Refined Storage Network

Linking the Stick to Your Network

Before you can build from storage, the Construction Stick needs to be bound to a Refined Storage network. Walk up to a Refined Storage controller (or any block that exposes the network as a controller does) while holding your Construction Stick, then right-click it. The stick stores the link internally, so you only need to do this once per network. If you move to a different base or a second network, repeat the right-click on that network's controller to re-bind.

Confirming the Connection Works

Once linked, place a few blocks while watching the placement preview lines. When the stick is pulling materials from your Refined Storage network, those lines render in blue instead of the usual color. That visual change is your confirmation that the connection is live and the stick is sourcing blocks from storage rather than your hotbar.

Things to Check If It Won't Link

  • Make sure the network is powered; an unpowered controller will not accept the link.
  • Confirm you are right-clicking the controller itself, not a cable or a random machine.
  • If you re-bind to a new network, the old link is replaced, so re-check the line color after switching.

With the link active, you can leave your building blocks in storage and still place them freely.
