Fixing Structures That Float or Spawn Incorrectly
Understanding Terrain Placement Issues
Structures sometimes float above water, sink into hills, or clip through terrain. The mod includes tools to prevent and fix these problems.
Steps:
1. Open /rc gui and select the problematic structure
2. Locate the rayAverageMaxHeightSpread setting
3. Adjust this value to control how the mod samples terrain height when placing buildings
4. A lower value makes placement stricter; a higher value allows more terrain variation
5. Save changes and regenerate chunks to test the fix
Prevention Tips
When creating custom structures, keep these in mind:
- Build on flat ground to establish a baseline
- Use the structure manager to preview placement before world generation
- Test in different biomes and terrain types
- Adjust biome rules so structures only spawn in suitable locations
The mod's missing-block protection also prevents crashes when loading older schematics with blocks that no longer exist, so your custom builds remain compatible across updates.
