How to Stop the Recast Mod from Auto-Casting Your Fishing Rod

Sometimes you want to fish manually, or you simply want to stop fishing without the line flying back out. The Recast Mod respects a normal right-click as a way to break the loop, so you're never locked into automatic recasting.

Breaking the Auto-Recast Loop

1. While your line is in the water, right-click with the fishing rod.

2. Because no bite is pending, the rod reels in and stops fishing — it does not immediately recast.

3. You're now free to walk away, switch items, or cast again manually whenever you like.

When Auto-Recast Triggers

The automatic recast only fires after you actually catch something. If you reel in empty — for example, when you right-click early or the bobber returns nothing — the mod treats it as a normal retrieval and does not throw the line back out. This means you can always regain manual control simply by reeling in before a bite lands.

Practical Tips

If you're fishing near hazards like lava or a mob-infested shore, reel in manually before a catch so the line doesn't get recast into danger. The mod never overrides your input; it only adds a recast after successful catches.
