Apply Crippling Throws with Axes for Bleed Effects
Understanding Crippling Throws
Crippling Throws are special axe attacks that apply a bleed effect to enemies, dealing damage over time and reducing their mobility. This mechanic makes axes valuable for weakening tough opponents before finishing them off.
Executing a Crippling Throw
1. Equip an axe as your main weapon.
2. Build up attack power by holding right-click (or use your mod's configured throw button).
3. Release to throw the axe at your target—the throw must connect to trigger the bleed.
4. The target receives a bleed debuff that deals damage over several seconds.
5. Retrieve your axe or use another weapon while the bleed effect runs its course.
Bleed Effect Strategy
- Bleed stacks with multiple hits, increasing damage if you land additional throws.
- Use Crippling Throws against high-health enemies like bosses or armored mobs.
- The debuff slows enemy movement, giving you time to reposition or heal.
- Combine with other weapons—throw an axe to cripple, then switch to a sword for finishing blows.
- Bleed damage scales with your axe's base damage and any relevant enchantments.
- In PvP, crippled opponents are easier to kite and control.
