How to Chop Down a Whole Tree by Breaking One Log

The One-Block Tree Felling Trick

Find the bottom log of a tree — the block sitting directly on the ground. Make sure you are NOT sneaking, then break that single log. The mod detects the connected log column and removes the entire tree above it, dropping all the logs and leaves as items.

Sneaking to Break Normally

If you want to break just one log without felling the whole tree, hold your sneak key while mining. Sneaking disables the tree-felling behavior, so you can shape a tree or remove a single block without triggering the full harvest.

Which Tools Work

Only certain tools are configured to trigger tree felling. By default, axes are the intended tool. If you try to chop with something that isn't on the allowed list, you'll just break the single log. Check the config's tool list if you want to add or remove tools.

Log Types and Modded Trees

The mod reads a list of log types it recognizes. Vanilla oak, spruce, birch, jungle, acacia, and dark oak are included. Trees from other mods work only if their log blocks are added to the config list. If a modded tree won't fall, add its log block ID to the config and reload.
