How to Deal with Despawning Chests and Balloons
Understand Despawn Mechanics
Fallen chests disappear ten minutes after they land. Balloons themselves vanish if they drift too far away from you. These time limits mean you must act quickly when you spot a balloon or find a chest.
Act Immediately After Shooting
Once you shoot down a balloon, the chest appears on the ground. Don't delay—head straight to it and collect the items. Lingering or getting distracted will result in losing the loot entirely.
Keep Balloons in View
If you see a balloon but aren't ready to shoot, keep it in sight. Moving too far away will cause it to despawn. If you need to prepare (gather arrows, clear obstacles), do so while maintaining visual contact.
Plan Your Hunting Sessions
Hunt in areas where you can quickly reach fallen chests. Avoid hunting near cliffs, water, or lava where chests might be unreachable. Clear a small area beforehand if needed to ensure you can safely collect loot within the ten-minute window.
