How to Fix Realistic Woods Looking Wrong or Not Loading

Confirm the Pack Is Actually Active

If wood still looks vanilla, the pack likely isn't enabled. Open your resource pack list and make sure Realistic Woods sits *above* any other pack that also touches wood textures — packs lower in the list get overridden. If another pack changes planks or logs, it will hide Realistic Woods entirely.

Resolve Conflicts with Other Packs

Two packs editing the same texture file can't both win. Decide which one you want for wood, then order them accordingly. If you want Realistic Woods for planks but another pack for leaves, check whether that pack also edits logs — if it does, you'll need to pick one.

Reload and Re-Check

After changing pack order, press F3+T to reload resources without restarting the game. Walk to a wood build and look closely at a plank face — you should see grain and knots rather than a flat color. If nothing changed, the pack may not be selected at all.

When It Looks Off Rather Than Broken

Some players find the added grain too busy on large flat walls. If that's your issue, it's not a bug — break up the surface with stairs, slabs, or a second species. The pack is working as intended; you just need to build around the extra detail.
