Configuring Drop Physics to Match Your Playstyle

What You Can Tune

Realistic Item Drops exposes options that control how strongly physics affects dropped items. Exact option names vary, but the categories are consistent: gravity strength, bounce, friction or sliding, and whether certain item types are exempt.

Common Adjustments

1. Reduce bounce for storage rooms. If items are bouncing off chests and shelves, lower the bounce value so they settle quickly.

2. Increase friction for farms. Higher friction stops items from sliding across large floors and into walls.

3. Disable physics for specific items. If a particular item (a tool, a food, a block) is causing trouble, look for a blacklist or per-item toggle so it behaves like a vanilla drop.

4. Turn physics off entirely for testing. Temporarily disabling the mod's physics lets you confirm whether a build problem is caused by the mod or by your redstone.

Where to Change It

Most versions expose settings through a config file in your instance's config folder, and some through an in-game config menu if a mod like Cloth Config is present. Edit values, save, and reload the world or restart the game for changes to apply.

Reverting Safely

Write down your original values before changing them so you can restore defaults if a build breaks.
