Protect Yourself Before Mining Nuclear Materials

Radiation in RTC2 is permanent until treated—respawning won't reset it. Before handling uranium, lithium, or other radioactive ores, craft a Geiger Counter to monitor your radiation levels in real time.

Always equip a Hazmat Suit and carry Radioguard medicine when working near dangerous materials. The Geiger Counter lets you safely check radiation levels before committing to a mining run.

Once you've gathered uranium and lithium safely, you can build your first nuclear reactor to generate power for late-game tools and weapons. This early investment in protection saves you from radiation sickness and keeps your survival run on track.
