Enable Custom Animal and Monster Textures

Prerequisites

The Real Effects 64x pack includes detailed custom designs for animals and monsters, but these won't display without additional mods. You need either Optifine or the Entity Model Features (EMF) mod installed alongside the resource pack.

Installation Steps

1. Install your chosen compatibility mod (Optifine or EMF) to your Minecraft instance

2. Launch Minecraft and confirm the mod loads successfully

3. Load the Real Effects 64x resource pack as normal through your resource pack menu

4. Create a new world or load an existing one

5. Encounter mobs and animals—you should now see custom textures like zombie outfits, decayed skeleton bones, and biome-specific pillager fur variations

Troubleshooting

If custom textures still don't appear:

  • Verify the compatibility mod is active in your mods folder
  • Check that Real Effects 64x is positioned above any conflicting packs in your resource pack list
  • Restart Minecraft completely after installing the mod

Without one of these mods, you'll see standard textures instead, though all other pack features (particles, blocks, UI) will work normally.
