How to Match Chiseled Patterns to a Build Style
Reading the Pattern Families
Re Chiseled patterns fall into recognizable looks. Beams and Pillars are linear and structural. Bricks, Brick Paving, and Paving are masonry-like. Tiles, Squares, and Mosaic are geometric and regular. Flooring is plank-like and horizontal. Crates and Jewel Block are more decorative and object-like.
Matching Pattern to Purpose
- Rustic cottage: Acacia Plank Flooring for floors, Acacia Plank Beams for exposed ceiling joists, Acacia Planks Crate for storage rooms.
- Medieval town: Andesite Bricks and Andesite Brick Pattern for walls, Andesite Paving for streets.
- Modern build: Andesite Squares and Andesite Paving for clean, flat surfaces.
- Fantasy or arcane: Amethyst Pillar and Amethyst Jewel Block as accents against stone.
Keeping a Build Cohesive
Limit yourself to two or three patterns per structure. Use one as the dominant surface, one as a border or trim, and one as a rare accent. The slab and stair versions of each pattern let you carry that palette onto roofs and steps without introducing a new texture, which is the easiest way to make a build feel intentional.
